Why us?

We don’t believe in cutting corners. All our Journals are hardbound, and all our products look, feel and are premium. Only the best materials go into our books, and each order is packed with care.

Since most of our products are personalised, the dispatch time is slightly long. However, the wait is worth it. We are sure that you will love our products!

Our Story

When Avyaan was born, we looked and looked for a Baby Record Album which had festivals that we celebrate, included milestones which were important to us like baby’s mundan, and was attractive enough so that we didn’t have to run to the craft store to decorate it.

We didn’t find any. So, we made one. And then some more :)

Till now, our philosophy remains unchanged. We design products for our use, and only the products we absolutely love make it to our website.

Avyaan Gupta – The Baby

All the final designs of new product launches have to go through our Head of Quality Control, Avyaan Gupta. His feedback is either in the form of claps or a violent shaking of the head and hands signalling no. We sincerely hope for the claps since it is quite impossible to change his mind.

His hugs and kisses are famous and often invoke jealously and envious looks. He is the reason we started The Happy Hippo, and he inspires us every day.

When he is not busy reviewing our books, you will find him stacking rings, splashing water or running off to the balcony.

Prachi Berlia – The Mummy

Prachi started The Happy Hippo when Avyaan was less than three months old.

She is our Alarm Clock, and her ‘gentle reminders’ are not so gentle. We are often working on our website or new launches till 3 AM.

Prachi has secret magic. She just knows stuff – which product will work well, which promotion will be a hit, when will Avyaan sleep tonight.

Whenever she gets a little time, she rushes to the coffee machine.

Operations

Abhas Gupta – The Papa

If you face any issue while using our website, it is because of Abhas. He would also like us to add that any white hair that you see on his head is due to the stress of designing the website.

When he is not busy proofreading our books or coordinating with our vendors, he likes to remind us how much space we are occupying on his hard disk.

His favourite accomplishment is that he taught Avyaan to say Papa!

Rashi Berlia – The Mausi

Being the youngest in the family until Avyaan’s arrival, she had accumulated this enormous wealth of knowledge without anyone to pass it on to. Each book that she designs is her way of transferring this knowledge to Avyaan.

She likes all things cartoonish, and any sophisticated designs you may see on our website are definitely not chosen by her.

Her life’s current aim is to teach Avyaan how to say Mausi.
